When I was a teenager I ate pretty much whatever I wanted because I loved food. I felt like healthy eating required me to give up the joy of eating, so I figured it was better to be happy and unhealthy!

But I had really poor self-esteem and was heavier than I wanted to be. So I became a yo-yo dieter/exerciser. I would start a diet or exercise routine for a little while, but then just give up because it was too hard.

​

This went on until I was half way through my freshman year of college, when I picked up a book that taught me some basic knowledge about nutrition.

​

Just this little amount of information helped me lose 25# in a few months. I felt so much better about what I was eating and my body.

​

This inspired me to become a Registered Dietitian. I want to teach people that eating healthy can taste good too! And you don't have to give up your favorite foods to lose weight! All you need is a little bit of knowledge!
