Oat Mushroom Burgers​

Portions: Makes ~12 patties

Ingredients:

Amount                Item

2 ½ cups              Water

1-2 medium        Onions, chopped

1 cup                    Mushrooms, rinsed and chopped

6 Tbsp                  Braggs liquid aminos (Or soy sauce)

¼ cup                   Nutritional yeast flakes

¼ cup                   Canola oil

1-2 tsp                  Garlic powder

2 tsp                      Onion powder

2 tsp                     Italian seasoning

2 tsp                     Sage, ground, or freshly chopped

3 cups                  Quick oats

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.

  2. Mix all ingredients except quick oats to a pan on medium heat and bring to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat and simmer for ~10 minutes.

  4. Add quick oats to pan and mix well. Remove from heat.

  5. Spray a baking pan with oil spray.

  6. Let mixture cool slightly before spooning ~1/3 cup into a mason jar lid to create a patty shape (you can also just form the patties by hand).

  7. Form each patty and place on the baking sheet.

  8. Bake for ~40 minutes, flipping the patties halfway through.

  9. Remove from the oven, and add to a bun with your favorite toppings, and enjoy!
